Bliz Rogue Q&A

Yesterday on the WoW site Bliz posted the Q&A for the Rogue Class. It was basically a big “fuck you” to the Rogue community.

Q. Vanish, as you know, is one of the class’s staple abilities that sets it apart from other classes. However, there are times when Vanish doesn’t execute quite as the rogue intends, especially when they vanish right in the middle of some kind of enemy channeling spell or when a class sends their pet after the rogue “mid-vanish.” Do we feel that, in its current rendition, Vanish is working properly in this respect? What variables should be considered when Rogues decide to utilize Vanish to avoid it being negated?

A: No, Vanish isn’t working properly and breaks when you breathe on the rogue funny. There are two problems with fixing it. One is that technically it’s just not easy. We would need to change the ways spells are resolved on the server side. Now that is something we can do, but the outcome would be taking a powerful ability and making it more powerful. We need to solve the frustration part of the ability, but not also greatly buff rogue survivability or damage potential when doing it. The solution we like the most is something like Vanish puts you in stealth for 1 second minimum no matter what else happens.

Oh so you realise there is a problem, a huge problem for Rogues, that basically fucks us over in PvP and you wont fix it because it’s alot of work? Well gee thanks for being lazy, as if it isn’t hard enough already to survive in BGs, the cooldown is more than enough time to prevent it from being OP if you make the skill you made work like you say it should.

Q. Cloak of Shadows is an incredible ability; it helps rogues avoid most incoming spell damage and effects. However, how do we feel this ability stacks up versus classes that possess both melee and spell damaging abilities? Do we still feel the 90% avoidance is sufficient to aid Rogues in PvP encounters against spell casters and hybrids?

A: It’s meant as a tool that’s part of a toolkit, not an I-win button. It’s sufficient, and extending it to 100% would make rogues largely immune to interesting PvE effects they shouldn’t be (e.g. Mimiron’s Shock Blast).

How the hell does 100% an I-win button? By the time you use it, and damage down a Priests bubble, they’ll just fear you and heal up again in no time. Wtf is going on with you Blizzard? Why are you being such dicks?

I don’t want to come off as a jerk by ranting, but this is fucking bullshit. They know what’s wrong and they don’t give a rats ass. If anything, it’ll make Rogue class less popular, and I like being one of few not many. There’s nothing we or I can do about it, Blizzard is just anally raping me and I have to sit there and give it money.

herp derp rogues have axes isn’t that enough ^_^

He’s a what?

newmeYes it has been a while everybody!
I only post when I’ve been playing WoW, and my summer classes were coming to an end last week so I didn’t start playing until this weekend again. You want news huh?
Well I’ve been grinding for Honor and leveling my mining skills, Dailies are boring as hell but I’m only doing Argent tournament ones for the Spinal Destroyer. PvP Dailies are lame they’ve been AV so many times, I hate AV horde sucks at it. The other night I was a sub for a CoS group and managed to get Greed, I was pretty stunned to get it on the first time playing through it on heroics. We had good healers, even though we died a few times from miss pulls and all that fun stuff.
Today I changed my name… and my sex. I am now the Female Rogue Blood Elf known as Gankenstein.
I was bored of my dude, and I’ve been wanting to use that name for a while so meh. I’ll be joining a bigger guild with my guild mates hopefully later this week when we apply. Our guild is pretty dead, there’s only 4 members and 1 is an alt so we only have 3 members. lol. sucks. I wanna raid bad, but I need to finish getting Hateful set and I need the chest from WG. 40 WG Marks and I only have 4, ugh. Anywho till next time.

Weekend Wrap Up

Alright after much PvPing, I haven’t gotten a lot better with practice, and I gotta say I love my combat build but I’m dieing to use this subtlety build I made. However I can’t.. I have to hold out and be good at PvE as well. ;_; At least not until I get better gear.

I picked up Hateful Gladiator’s Leather Gloves from the Honor I got this weekend, I am going to try to get 4 pieces of the Hateful set now so I can get the set bonus (Increase Max Energy by 10) also if you are going for Hateful set as well I suggest getting the Gloves first since they give an extra bonus. I wont be gettingthe Hateful chest because the one in Wintergrasp is better, Titan-forged Leather Tunic of Triumph, so I need to spend a few days doing WG for that.

My guildmate made me the Titansteel Shanker for free since I lent him 1k gold to get his epic flying and I let him use my Haunted Memento for a day. So now I can finalyl be Dagger/Dagger or Fist/Dagger. I’ll use what ever has the better stats since my CQC spec will go for both.

As promised here is the video from my first dunegon in Halls of Lightening.

First Dungeon

Ok! I did my first dungeon as 80 the other night.

And of course I pull the boss by accident lol..

Well anyhow a guild mate made a group for HoL which took an oddly long time. People dropping at last minute etc. Not to mention we were ganked by Alliance nad corpse camped.

When we finally did get going it went pretty good, I was able to get my ring and my helmet. Also a little bit before the dungeon I got a leatherworker to make my shoulders and belt for me too. So 4 pieces down on my gear. I’ll post a video from the dungeon later, blip.tv is acting up when encoding to flash.

Off to do PvP Daily and then Culling of Stratholme!

Planning Ahead

After thinking a lot about what to do now that I’m 80 it all comes down to either PvP or PvE.
If you’re just turning 80 you may already know PvP at high levels is pretty hard core; just the same with PvE raids.

To participate in these without getting flamed or kicked from groups you’re going to need gear, good gear. But before you can even get to the best gear you need to start lower. A lot of gear can be picked up from places by being exalted, or 5 man instances. Here’s a list of Gear I’m working on getting before I try to participate in Heroics or Arena.

  1. Hood of the Furtive Assassin
  2. Darkheart Chestguard
  3. Trollwoven Spaulders
  4. Trollwoven Girdle
  5. Mind-Expanding Leggings
  6. Boots of the Neverending Path
  7. Greed
  8. Titansteel Shank

That’s the set I’m working on getting at the moment. In the off time I am just mining and working on getting enough money for a flying mount. I never buy anything yet I don’t have any money. >.<

Hey! Mayer!

Well hello everyone, the debut of my second blog this one is strictly centered towards World of Warcraft.

Let’s start with a little back story.

I’ve been playing WoW for quite a few years now, I’ve gone from private servers to real to private and back to real again. I’ve been scammed, I’ve been hacked and even been banned (not perm). So I am by no means a new commer to World of Warcraft.

I am however a new commer to level 80 endgame.

So, what is this blog about?

It’s about my happenings as a newbie end gamer. I will post as I experience the world of end game, maybe other newbie rogue 80s will see this and maybe it will help them. I’ve searched for some good rogue blogs but they all seem to be pre-WOTLK.

I am in the middle of a pretty important assignment for class however, so I will get back to this tonight or tomorrow.

Kisses, :3
